introduction: my story
i grew up in manchester england. after completing my bachelor's degree in geography and sociology from sheffield university (uk) i moved to israel in january 2002.
in 2007, i concluded my studies at haifa university (israel), and became a tour guide and educator licensed by the israeli ministry of tourism. i have since continued my studies completing the ministry of tourism's specialist course in christianity and a masters degree in government diplomacy and conflict from reichmann university (idc herzelia).
i have guided jewish federations, reform and conservative congregational groups, birthright, christian and interfaith, multigenerational families, teens and adults. i have experience running educational and leadership seminars in the uk, europe, usa and israel. i also accompany groups on jewish educational tours throughout europe.
questions and dialogue are central to my guiding, in tandem with an animated and energetic style. i believe that original music and texts are inspiring tools to grasp the emotions, opinions and expressions of people, in order to connect, understand and empathize with ancestors and predecessors - to connect the past to the present.
i was one of the founders of a new urban kibbutz in northern israel, where i established and coordinated a non-profit organization bringing volunteers and professionals to work in socioeconomically deprived communities, focusing on informal education, social action and coexistence.
after moving on from the kibbutz, i married rona. we live in herzelia, and our boys, lior and mikey.
i love music. for a few years i thought i would become professional, until i was gently brought down to earth by my mother! this was not long after my father had helped me accept that i would never play professionally for my lifelong love, manchester united!
i found my niche through ultimate frisbee, having formed, played and coached a number of university, open, youth and national teams. i have been an israeli national ultimate frisbee team coach, and a senior coach of an international organization promoting israeli arab and jewish, and palestinian arab youth coexistence through sport

my life philosophy can be simplified by Italian poet and novelist cesare pavese, who wrote:
- "we don't remember days; we remember moments".
